ADS Drilling heads also allow considerable improvements in efficiency to be achieved. If, for example, the number of passes can be reduced from two to one, an increase in productivity of 100% is achieved. There is also an equivalent reduction in set up times.
The various adjustable centre drill heads have been designed to fit not just our own standard horizontal drilling machine/self-feed drill unit, but with little modification/additional parts, they can be fitted to a Rye PD3 self-feed drill or a pillar drill.
One pass production will reduce work-in-progress. When it is not necessary to remove and replace work-in-progress the chance of damage due to mishandling, or accidents to workers, is greatly reduced. The cumulative effects of these benefits make for a better end product in a shorter time and increased profitability.

ADS specialises in the manufacture of drill heads for specific products. This can give you benefits in a number of ways. Increased accuracy of positioning and the completion of drilling operations in one pass, have obvious benefits in reducing scrap and improving quality. With our equipment there is little room for error.
Available units:
- 2 spindles in-line, 25mm to 161mm centres (pictured)
- 3 spindles in-line, 25mm to 93mm centres
- 3 spindles in a "triangle" pattern
- 4 spindles in a "square" pattern
Specials are available with the rotating spindle housings mounted farther apart giving larger minimum centres and 136mm adjustment.
ADS undertakes repairs and reconditioning of both our own drill heads and original machine manufacturer's drill heads.
With our stock parts, product knowledge and manufacturing resources we have the ability to perform virtually any repair. Regarding our own drilling heads, reconditioning is kept to a minimum as long as appropriate preventative maintenance and lubrication is carried out. As long as these operations are performed ADS drill heads will perform reliably for many years.
